Just updated to 2.1

I just updated to 2.1 and wanted to load some files but they seem to be gone. Any folder I try to open comes up with ‘no items match your search’. Would anyone have a solution to this problem? I’m really puzzled by this. Thanks in advance

Try loading a backup file from yesterday.

Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestion but it wouldn’t work for me so I uninstalled 2.1 and re installed the previous version. Fortunately I back up all my files so I was able to copy those back on this computer. At this point I won’t be updating any future version in case of further issues.

What files specifically are you looking for? A project file (.lbrn2) or a Laser device?

If you were using a RC or Beta release of LightBurn, the preferences are stored separately from the mainline Release of LightBurn.

Hi Colin … I lost my complete Lightburn folder with all project files after I chose to update to the new version which was being offered. A message came up that I needed to run another file in order to run LB. Sorry, I don’t remember the name but looking back, it might have been a bug? I uninstalled LB and reloaded an earlier version which seems to be working ok. At this point, I won’t upload the new version until I can be sure it won’t cause anymore problems. I hasten to add that I’ve never had any real issues with LB since I’ve purchased the program

Well, all I have left is a mess. laser won’t frame and if I want to cut out a shape I have to move the laser head by hand over the material. I’ve never had a problem with lb since I signed up a few years ago but right now it has become a nightmere. I simply don’t know what to do. Do I uninstall the laser completely and re install it or is there another way. It seems laser and LB are simply not communicating. As for the camera, that doesn’t work either. Ina

You already tried that sorry.
Try importing the laser device .lbdev file and test.

Also do a search in the computer for .lbrn files to find where they are.

Just so that you know always where your files are I´ll let here a tip from LAhobbyGuy:

Also you can pin a folder to Quick Access:

So when due to any “quirks” Lightburn doesn´t find the files you can easily find them:

I uninstalled and reloaded LB, I hadn’t uninstalled the laser but will try that in the morning

My attempt to connect computer and laser is not happening. As for downloading the file, it tells me it’s not available. maybe because I’m in Australia?? After 5 hours yesterday and 2 hours today, I’m giving it a spell for a while and get back to it later

If you are talking about the .lbdev file, it is (supposed to be) local on your machine if you have not set up something like remote or cloud workings.

If you need the .lbdev just drag and drop it into the Lightburn Workspace select the Falcon2 Pro then click Import. The file must be on the Laser flash drive.

Falcon2 Pro.lbzip (1.6 KB)

Thank you MikeyH, I do have file on the card that came with the machine but it will need updating. Since the computer I use is only for this program I have decided to factory reset it and do a completely new install. I thought yesterday that I had it working, I was able to calibrate the camera, but when it came to the framing, the program wouldn’t respond. The problem has to be somewhere in the settings; I just don’t know where. Anyway, I’m done, already wasted too much of my precious time.

Thank you parsec … I have the disk with the file; it downloaded but needs updating due to the program updates. I’m going to do a factory reset and hope that with fresh installations the issues can be solved.

Update … I did a total computer reset, re-installed Lightburn 2.102 and to my great relief the laser works like it did before. I’ve no idea what went wrong; in the end I had no choice but to do the reset. Thanks to all who tried to help, cheers Ina Bee
