Hi Niko,
Could you try setting your screen resolution higher?
It’s not because I think your resolution is wrong, but I’ve experienced something similar with my macbook pro. Try different settings (also go down in resolution if yours is already very high) and report back.
I had to increase the resolution to be able to use LB camera in the newer LB versions.
I would also like to hear if you experience the same thing as me regarding overexposure of LB camera on MacOS version.
Thanks for the feedback.
I just wanted to make sure that this is not a unique problem I am struggling with. I really hope that the Mac version of LB will also have the option to control the exposure in the future, it is essential to be able to use the camera seriously.
I have also experienced your problem with missing parts of the image or the image jumping. But repeated attempts at calibration and a higher screen resolution have helped here. I think that LB is working on finding solutions for the camera problems.
You have to start all over again with lens calibration. Here it is important (I don’t know why) that you choose the right profile and save it.
What is the right profile? - LB says the one that looks best or has the lowest error rate. Unfortunately you have to try all 3 options or 2 if you don’t have a fisheye lens, and perform camera alignment with each profile. That and a higher screen resolution of the Mac recommended, has solved the problem, here with me, with half or flickering images - mostly, but not completely. I still experience delays in updating the desktop and flickering images in the camera window, but in a way where it is only irritating but allows working with the camera.
The problem with uncontrollable exposure in the Mac version of LB is here with me, still the biggest problem.
I know the LightBurn people have looked into the matter… but because there is not much coming from LB in this specific problem, I have and still spend a lot of time on calibration and alignment, troubleshooting/documentation. I have 2 almost identical MacBook Pros on MacOS 15.7.2 that I need to get to work with LB because my work computer is on Linux which is no longer supported by LB.
What annoys me the most is that there is (besides exposure) no clear fault line in the camera problem. You can get a lens/camera calibration that is impressively precise, I have shown/described it here in the forum before, but it depends on “coincidences” that I cannot control.
I have the impression that the Mac/camera problem unfortunately does not weigh the same in LB’s decisions about using recurcer on it, as it does on many other things. But of course, if it is only me who has this problem and complains… then that is a completely different matter.
