A remix of Leonard Lee’s sign on Thingiverse (Laser Cut Kansas City Western Auto Sign by leonardlee - Thingiverse).
I took his design and angled the top backwards, then made some ‘feet’ to hold the device in place. The feet can be glued in place or kept loose to accommodate different devices.
I laid out all of the pieces to fit on the 12x12 plywood that’s commonly found on line. Assuming that you will paint this, I put all of the pieces that needed to be masked on the left side and added a weed assist ‘kiss-cut’ to cut through the masking tape but not the piece itself. This will allow you to spray paint the pieces and then peel off the masking tape to glue them in place.
Finally, since I like having using small button nails to add a completely anachronistic rivet look to the piece, I have added ‘pilot holes’ which allow you to center a small drill bit at the intersections and then press fit the nails in place.
Made with a 20w diode laster, the Lightburn file contains the main project and a ‘test cut’ area that allow you to dial in your settings for your laser and type of wood you are using. Enjoy.
