Keeping Drawing Dimensions

I have a file in a *.dxf format and read it into lightburn to prepare the file for burning some small RC Plane Parts. I can’t seem to get the dimensions to hold when I import the *.dxf file. Am I trying to get something that doesn’t exist in lightburn? I apologize for such a newbie question…but that is exactly me, brand new and wanting to learn.

I review the file in QCAD Pro to confirm it is what I want and then open Lightburn and import the same *.dxf file. In lightburn it seems not to maintain the original size of the design.

Laser: ACMER P2 33 watt
S/W: Lightburn 1.7.08
H/W: iMac M3 running Sequoia

Are you working in inches in QCAD and metric in LB?

Ralph, sorry for the delay. I double checked and the QCAD was in inches and LB was in mm. I changed LB to inches and did the import all over and got the same results. This first screenshot shows the results when I bring the file into lightburn from the direct *.dxf file.

This second screenshot shows when I expand the parts of the drawing and check the size. Still not as they should be, not even close.

Thanks for your help.

David

I don’t know if it helps but did you check your configurations on import DXF settings?

It appears that you just switched units to inches in LB. If you import a DXF that was created in inches, you have to change a setting for the import.

Edit>Settings then select the Import / Export tab, and set “DXF Import Settings” to Inches

That did the trick, thank you both for the help and the solution!
