I havean issue with my project. I’m trying to twist
or turn this shape and keep it
exactly the same. When I do
it, the shapes change and stretch.
How to correct this?
You need to group your flower
Double check that you gave not enabled rotary. That will compress the y axis on a flat laser
Grouping the six petals of the flower can make it easier to select all of them for a singular adjustment but it’s not required.
I assume that you’re seeing the stretch when you’re rotating one of the flowers in the work area in LightBurn.
Select all of the petals by holding a mouse button to hold-click then drag-open a selection box to select all the petals at once. I think you’re doing this part correctly because the stretch looks consistent. After you have the petals within the selection box, release the mouse button. You should see moving dashed lines around all of the petals and a series of ‘drag-handles’ on the corners and in the middle of edges of the section.
If you want to rotate the selection without stretching it, move your cursor toward a corner showing a curved two-headed arrow. When you get close enough to activate the rotate option, your cursor will change to match the two-headed arrow. When it changes, click and hold the mouse button and drag the selection to rotate it. ![]()
I think you may be attempting to rotate the shape by grabbing the shear handle causing it to stretch.

Let us know if this works as expected.

Hi again, this is the method I’ve been using all along. I realised the difference between the two tools, one stretches and the other one in the corner SHOULD ONLY TURN NOT CHANGE THE SHAPE. As you can see in my picture, this is not happening, my flowers are getting distorted as if I were using the stretch tool.
Please help me figure this out, it’s becoming very frustrating and yet it should be so simple.
Once you know the secret, it is super easy ![]()
I suggest you zoom in a little closer and make %100 sure that you are clicking on the double headed arrows to rotate the item.
Also, get to know the “,” and the “.” hotkeys. The Shift, Alt and CTRL keys modify the results of the . and the , keys
When you mouse over the correct point, you will see a small arc for that point. When you drag the point, the entire selection will rotate. If you want it to rotate about the center, select the center radio button (of 9) at the top.
I can’t see how this is happening without something strange in the file.
If you’re willing to share the file. Please send it to me directly.
@Roma23, Please upload your .lbrn2 project file here, and we will review it.
