Kentoktool LE400 Pro not returning to 0,0

Hi all,

I am pretty new to using Lightburn and am having some issues with getting it to work as expected with my Kentoktool LE400 Pro machine.

It seems that there is somthing not right with the amount the X axis travels. I have readjusted the belt tention for the X axis but still the same issue;

-I home the machine:

-I send the laser head to 50mm on the X and 50mm on the Y and get this:

-Then try sending back to 0,0 and get:

Am I missing somthing or being really stupid? Any help anyone can offer is appreciated.

How are you trying to send it back to 0,0?

I’ve been using the “Move to position” fields in the movement panel

So homing works?
If you burn a 100mm square what is the result?
Can you also type $$ into console and paste results?

Yes, Homing works fine. With the 100mm x 100mm square I get just that 100mm x 100mm. I have put the $$ results below:
$0=5
$1=250
$2=0
$3=1
$4=0
$5=0
$6=0
$10=1
$11=0.010
$12=0.002
$13=0
$20=0
$21=1
$22=1
$23=3
$24=5000.000
$25=5000.000
$26=250
$27=3.000
$30=100
$31=0
$32=1
$100=80.000
$101=80.808
$102=80.000
$110=10000.000
$111=10000.000
$112=500.000
$120=1000.000
$121=1000.000
$122=10.000
$130=400.000
$131=400.000
$132=200.000

Thanks

Looks like sending it to x50y50 gets you more like x200y50 and sending it back to x0y0 gets you x150y0?

When is that hard limit trigger error popping up?

Yes, that’s about right i’d day.

The Hard Limit is triggering on the Y but not the X when sending it back to 0,0

I think your laser board is 8bit…
Have you changed the grbl settings?
As per info in the Kentoktool site the 8bit GRBL settings are different from the ones you have.

Thanks for replying. I have followed the steps on the Kentoktool site to update the configuration to 8bit and I am still getting the same issue. I have noticed that I am only getting this issue if I use Lightburn, I do not get this issue when using LaserGRBL.

I’m not sure what it is but Lightburn seems to be sending the laser head further along the X than necessary even when starting a job.The job seems to start at round 200mm along the X instead of at its absolute coordinates, the Y moves to the correct place but not the X. The engraving itself is fine in both the X&Y.
