I have the KT332n controller and need some set up help please. The manual tells me that the speed should be 100 mm/s and my power should be 99.9%/33.3%. However, my controller power will only let me go up to 9 in power. It is also tell me that the job distance is 0 and to please reset. Can anyone tell me how to do that please? Thank you all so much!
If this is the controller that came with the laser (*), then it should already be configured for the machine’s hardware and does not require any further setup. Unless you’ve reset the thing to the defaults (don’t do that) or some such, you should be setting up LightBurn to run with it.
Perhaps the LightBurn doc will explain what to do:
If that’s not the problem, then more details on what you’ve already done and what you’re attempting to do will be helpful.
(*) It seems pretty much like the OMTech 60 W laser I have, with that same controller. Pretty much, It Just Worked after I got LB set up to run with it over a network connection.
I want to do a mirror alignment and it is suggested that the max power be set at 15%. Seems that the options on the KT332n controller only let me go in increments from 1-10 so does anyone know what that means?
Ah! You’ve been tricked by the controller’s breathtakingly lousy numeric entry:
- The up and down arrows change the current digit
- The left and right arrows select another digit
So, basically, twiddle a digit, then slide sideways to twiddle an adjacent digit. Tap Enter
when you’re done.
Of more importance: set the laser so it pulses for 50 ms (or whatever) each time you press the Pulse
button. The other choice is to fire continuously for as long as you hold the button down, which makes the burn intensity depend on your caffeine dosage.
The KT332N doc is generally less helpful than it could be, but page 50 goes over “Number modification operating”:

Oh, and throw out the crappy tape they supply for alignment and make your own targets:
Happy aligning!
Thank you so much! You’ve been so helpful!
