Using a kentoktool jl5, why cant i access minimum power settings? Theres no way to adjust this that i can find, nothing in cuts/layers, nothing in edit. I am currently running version 1.7.01. Everytime i open lightburn, the screens are arranged differently unless i disconnect the machine from wifi. There is another issue that may be connected. There is no shading at all when doing photos. If it isnt straight black and white it wont engrave with any clarity. This happens regardless how i adjust the image. The original laser module failed, i added a new module from a different make. It worked beautifully, now it wont. I have since disconnected the computer from the internet in the hopes i can readjust this back otherwise, its all scrap to me
Unlike Ruida controllers on COâ‚‚ machines, GRBL controllers do not have the ability to set the minimum power. They vary it based on the acceleration and speed settings, with no external controls.
In general, LightBurn displays only the settings relevant for the controller in the Device
.
Generally that may not be true. This is my grbl using grayscale mode. You’ll notice there is a minimum power setting available.

The question seems to come up in the context of Line
layers, where the controller handles the power throttling all by itself along each line / curve.
I think grayscale mode on a GRBL machine requires a separate S
command along with the G1
command moving across each pixel (or adjacent same-intensity pixels), giving LightBurn the ability to twiddle the levels.
IIRC, the ensuing data overload was the motivation for G-Code Clustering
in some firmware version.
