I have a boss laser, I replaced the tube with a mcw 100 watt tube and a 150 watt power supply. I have all American photonic mirrors, beam combiner, lens and alignment tool. I aligned the mirrors with there tool. I have include my targets after the alignment. I still have large cut lines.
PLEASE HELP
First, put some shoes on
Check your focus with a ramp check - place your media at an angle by blocking one end up - set focus as you would about the middle of the ramp. Burn a line. Find where the line goes from wide to skinny back to wide. Measure from that spot to your laser head.
What was the original tube wattage? Over powered lines will smolder and look fatter than need be.
original was a 90 watt. The american photonics lens have a pre set focal length. What do you mean by overpower?
If you need 20% and you use 60%… you are putting way too much power into the cut. It will case the spot to bleed
As James writes, your focus is one problem, the other is your power supply, it doesn’t match your tube. You will be able to adjust it down, but that is not the right solution in my opinion. There is also a big risk of damaging your tube by accidentally turning up too much power. Unless you can throttle the power internally in the supply to the max allowable mA output to the tube.
thanks I’ll get a 100 watt power supply. The American photonic lens use a standard 10,5 mm to focus
…it’s quite possible, but without you having tested/tried it, it’s just an “assumption”
Do that ramp test and you’ll get 100% clarity on it.
