If you create a line on a piece of clamped wood, then run the process a second time should the lines align?
If they don’t and the line has moved in the same direction everytime you do it, do you have any idea what the problem might be.
I have checked the belts and they all seem to have simular tension, the second engrave is always + x and -y a tiny bit.
Also it cuts perfect circles, the circle is still perfect on the second burn, just moved a bit, and its not the material moving, and I do home the machine.
What is your start from value in the laser window?
This could be the problem. If you are not moving the material, why do you perform a home operation. Usually it’s very close, but sometimes it may cause a bit of a variance.
Suggest, as a test, start from set to absolute coordinates and do not home the machine between runs.
Try it on something you know shows the problem and uses the least amount of material…
You only have to reHome the machine after powering up if the laser bangs into something or stalls out. Or you move it by hand while it is on.
There is a condition where the motor power times out and the laser module is free to move if touched or bumped in some way.. Or the wiring is tight and it springs back a little.
Using just enough power to make a mark, do a 4" (100mm) circle about 4-5 times using separate cycles of 1 pass to do it. Then do the same circle using 4-5 passes. Post a screen shot (WinKey-Shift-S) of the result.
Thank you, I have just been out to the machine recalibrated with another laptop, and its fine, even if i rehome ( which i wont now during a job), however i am pretty sure the machine rehomed without me telling it to after a job, now the head goes to the back middle position, I will have to keep an eye on it, see if i can see a pattern.
Thank you for your help.
