Laser creating a ghosting

I am having a ghosting on my Boss laser when cutting. It appears on the left side and only when I am cutting out a design. Any ideas?

Looks like the beam is hitting the nozzle. I’ve never seen one this far off…

Have you gone over the vertical alignment?

I’m assuming that it’s not actually making an extra pass here…

The power is to high (or speed too low) for that material…

The speed is 20 the power is 90. It is 1/4 Birch. I do 2 passes. I have removed the nozzle and put it back. Still doing it. There is slight movement with the tube on the lens cone that won’t tighten, but I was thinking the laser is hitting that too, but it doesn’t do it when engraving so I didn’t know.

There is a major difference in power level… might not be detectable…

This is a handy tool… I cut this out of acrylic…

Beam Checker 2.lbrn2 (12.2 KB)

You can see how it’s used at 32:42 in this video by Russ Sadler…

Might give you a better idea of where the beam is coming out…

Good luck
