Hi, I’m a new user of a Vevor A7 5W, I was running an engraving when I had not corrected the laser power, I stopped job, corrected the power settings & somehow re-started but the laser started from the wrong position & hit the frame sides & jumped the belts. Since then I can’t get any new projects to start without coming up with G-Codes. How can I reset everything back to original & re-align the laser head properly?
If you don’t have homing switches then you would shut off power, manually move laser to your home position and restart.
The laser head goes back to home properly, but the goes to start in a completely different point to what it should on the Lightburn page screen.
It’s like it can’t register the laser cutting start point, regardless of where I select the start point.
If I try to start, it comes up with a window saying “cut might be out of bounds, continue anyway?” If I cancel, nothing happens, if I continue, it comes up with ALARM:1
Hard limit triggered. Machine position is likely lost due to sudden and immediate halt. Re-homing is highly recommended.
On or near line 1:
Job halted
If I hit the home button, it sort of overides the alarm, but if I try again, the whole process happens again. I don’t know if that helps any replies, thanks
I’m guessing that you’re not using the absolute coordinates start from mode. You may also have items outside the work area on your screen that are trying to be sent. The preview window will show you what is being sent to the laser. A screenshot of your entire workspace would help others see what you’re doing. (No phone pics please)
I’m sorry I couldn’t get my laptop to screenshot, even with snipping tool. I have 2 photos, 2nd one is before attempting, the 1st is the result faults showing on console. Let me know anything else I can do to show the issues I’m getting, thanks
I see you are using user origin. Where did you set the physical origin in your laser? This is done from the move tab. Home the laser, then using the jog arrows in the move tab, place the laser head where you wish on the bed and click the set origin button. DO NOT move the laser head by hand because when you do that LightBurn no longer knows where the laser is. It thinks it’s still where it left it. Then try and run your project.
Thanks Tim,
I’ll try that when I get the chance.
Thanks Tim,
solved! Much appreciated.
