Laser HOME's beyond Field

SInce using the Lightburn Software, when I FRAME an image (prior to printing), the laser head wants to travel too far beyond the X axis. It’s a k40 laser and the X axis is 9.25 Inches which equals 235mm (or so) SO I have lightburn set for 200mm. When I frame out an image, I hear the steppers trying to move beyond the X and grind. I am also using the Cohesion 3d board.

Your subject is that that laser homes beyond the field, and the message is that the laser frames too far, and these aren’t the same thing.

The configuration of the Cohesion board itself is what dictates the allowed size of the machine, not LightBurn, and it’s quite possible you’re using a ‘Start From’ setting other than ‘Absolute Coords’ without understanding how those work (this is probably the most common mistake). For that, read here: https://lightburnsoftware.github.io/NewDocs/CoordinatesOrigin.html

Thanks. I have worked on the difference. I am going to look into why my laser is trying to go beyond the limit switches. Hopefully before I burn out my gears. Thanks
