Laser is waiting to start engraving with laser turned on, scrollbar is slowly loading

Hi all,
Just finished building my Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro. I am using the lightburn software on linux Ubuntu. Had a few tests that went well but when I set my speed below 20mm/seconds is goes wrong.

After pressing start Lightburn moves the laser XY position to the start of the workpiece and waits for a long time with the laser turned on. I can see the scrollbar in Lightburn is loading slowly. It is just a simple vector design(square) with a text inside.

What Am I doing wrong. My workpiece is getting fire this way and it leave a big black hole in my workpiece. My computer is a 5 year old lenovo, Intel(R) Core™ i7-5600U CPU @ 2.60GHz, 12 GB Ram. Should be fast enough i guess.

Hi Martijn, I think you should be in mm/min but you’re using mm/sec,
if you go into settings(top of Lightburn)(best for diodes) and change it there, that may be your problem.
May not be but at least it’ll be the right settings.
