Laser movement is backwards/reversed

Can you please share with me how to check the settings in Lightburn 2.0.0.5 to try to correct the laser movement. I have a Longer B1 40watt. Every thing started reversed mode. My laser won’t home in the setting I have for homing. It goes in the opposite direction, also bangs against the sides and back and front. I’ve loosened belts, tightened belts. Still in reverse. I cannot find any settings to correct the x and y axis. I am new so I am learning but I cannot find it. Can someone help me. I did find a limit stitch wire broken, but my manufacturer says to check x and y but I can’t figure it out and firmware flashing is not working. Help.

Is this a problem that just started or has it never worked correctly?

Just started last week, and I can’t get it to stop. I’ve looked everywhere and tried things that Longer has had me try, but it continues to go backwards,

What changed in your setup, lightburn update, power failure, sunspots?

Start by loading a preferences file from before the problem started. File menu>preferences>load prefs backup. Then reload machine settings. LB 2.0 + laser tools menu, prior to 2.0 edit menu > machine settings> load backup button. Find a file from before the problem and then click the write button.

See if this solves the problem.

Also, it might pay to recheck your limit switches, if the switch is already active (if wired wrong or disconnected), that may cause a backwards homing movement. Are you seeing any alarms or errors in the Console Window?

I remember doing the update on LB but I don’t recall anything else changing. I will try it. Thank you. I will update when I get it done.

Yes, my x axis limit switch broke (a wire). I’m waiting on a new set to be delivered.

If you have a broken limit switch you won’t be able to home the machine. You will need to disable auto home at startup and disable the homing cycle in the firmware until you get the switch fixed. With homing disabled, move the laser head to the home corner before turning it on, this will set that corner as your 0,0 location.

Okay, can you tell me where I disable or how to disable in the firmware? Is that in GRBL or in LB?

Both;

In LightBurn:

In GRBL firmware:

While connected to the laser, open the LightBurn Console Window and enter $22=0

you should see an ‘OK’ response.

Then to check if the value was written correctly, enter just ‘$22’, and you should see a response of ‘$22=0’.

Thank you, I’ll try that when I get home this afternoon. You all have been so helpful. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

That looks OK(ish), now restart and see what happens.

The problem continues. I’ve disabled the homing setting.Still waiting on those limit switches.
