Laser not powering up

Apologies as a noobie but…

Got a 3018 Pro and bought this 5500mw laser from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07VW9YSSQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It comes with no instructions or manufacturer’s label. Not even safety warnings. Anyway I have put it in the machine and lightburn has picked it up but the laser, whilst lit, won’t get to any level of power.

I have tried it manually by simply attaching the power directly and turning up the dial and it fires up, but it doesn’t do anything through the LB controller.

Here are the console settings:

At the console enter:
$30=1000
then
$32=1

$30 is the max spindle speed value which is 12,000 for you for some reason. LightBurn expects the spindle speed (laser power) range to be 0 - 1000.
Alternatively you could go to Edit > Device Settings and change “S-Value max” to 12000.

$32=1 is changing your machine into “Laser Mode” which will prevent it from lasing while moving between cuts.
