Laser not toggling on and off fast enough-leaves shadows and overburn

I’m very new to CNC and laser so go easy!!

I purchased a Jtech 60w laser that attaches to my Millright CNC. When cutting a line with the laser it seems to do perfectly fine. But when doing a fill setting the laser doesn’t seem to turn on and off fast enough to make clean edges. I’ve tried messing with speeds, power, acceleration setting, constant power mode…I’ve asked chat GPT for help and done about as many google searches as I can stomach for now. At this point I have an overpriced workbench and I’d really like to get it doing what I hoped it would do.

Any suggestions on other settings or adjustments I should try before I donate the whole thing to Goodwill?!?!

Try disabling Bi-directional fill:

But likely you have slope in your laser, run the job on this post and reply with pictures of the output:

In case you need to adjust something:

.
After check if your machine needs the scanning offset adjusted:

Your answer is fine and correct, except for the first line (in my opinion)
Bidirectional engraving is an elementary function that LB should be able to handle and can handle. (You also don’t disable the shape function because the machine is not properly aligned and produces oval circles  )

If all that you refer to is checked and sorted, the shown problem with overscanning will be solved.

This is not the end, if things get better we´re on the right path to solve the issue.

Thanks for being patient! I don’t get to laser as often as I would like so I’m just getting to run this.

I’ve attached photos from 4 different speeds. I think part of the issue today is that the higher speeds cause some vibration to my table. Hopefully you can get a decent idea of what’s going on from these pics. If not let me know what else to adjust and I’ll run it again.

You have found the solution to the problem yourself, or a large part of it. There are some loose or incorrectly mounted parts in your machine to be found and fixed. It will be a good starting point.

Got a screenshot of the settings you used for these?

Give a good overhaul to your machine.
