I asked because the shape looks like it’s from an illegal copy of LB. But if you have it from LB directly, it can’t be.
What do other geometric shapes made with your laser look like?
I havent tried making other shapes, as I hardly know how it works yet. I dont think it will let me engrave anything when the camera alignment havent been finished.
Could the trial version be locked for some reason?
Ive reinstalled the software and will try the calibration in the morning when there is natural lighting.
No, LightBurn’s trial versions are fully functional, nothing is missing or disabled.
You can easily use your new laser without a camera to start with. But if what you show in your picture is the first thing you have produced with this laser, then you have mechanical problems. Check all connections, belts and pinion screws in the pulleys. Then try doing very simple tasks so that you become familiar with the machine and LightBurn.
Reinstalled lightburn from scratch and did a recallibration of the lens.
The test scores were way worse this time with lowest value being around 0,15 in center positions and between 0,20 to 0,28 in corners. With them being >0,10 and >0,15 last time.
There was natural lighting, but its cloudy outside.
BUT…
The alignment test worked perfectly this time. Currently doing a material test, and will look for a detailed file to engrave next.
I guess i will recalibrate the lens if its not precise enough at some point.
These are “ok” values that are in the acceptable range, and good enough to be able to use the camera.
But, as said before, the camera is an auxiliary tool and not essential for being able to use LB.
