I’m sure this is something simple, but my engraving is tremendously slow as it won’t accelerate and decellerate as fast as it used to, and ‘swings’ really far. I’m trying to engrave at 400mm/s. What am I doing wrong?
It’s a Ruida controller with a windows pc, if that’s any help. Here’s a video!
I might not have a backup. Oops. I do have another similar machine and I can just copy all settings but I’d rather not, as I spend some time tuning both machines. Do you by any chance know what setting I’d have to look at?
What happens if you set your speed to say 300 or 350?
If you were setting your speed to higher than your controller’s maximum setting, it’s going to spend most of its time accelerating and decelerating for your overscan.
The first thing is to see if the acceleration values are correct. You have at least a working machine, so compare the X axes acceleration values. Don’t use mine.
They’re automatic, so if you haven’t done anything to destroy that subdirectory, the files should be available.
Show a screenshot of the LightBurn restoration screen list so we can look over your shoulder.
You could migrate the settings from that machine, rather than try doing it by hand.
Many of them, starting with verifying the units you’re using in LightBurn, moving on to the Machine settings for the X axis, then considering some of the overall limits.
Which, frankly, is a waste of time for both of us, because getting it right requires getting everything right One. Value. At. A. Time. when neither of us know what’s gone wrong.
Restoring the machine from a backup gets you to the point where it formerly worked, then maybe we can make progress from there.
