Laser position not in same place as my laser

Hi all I have a sainsmart 4030 machine and after the update in lightburn My laser is in the bottom right where it always homes but on my work bed it’s front left where my origin is and if I jog my laser it goes off my work area into minus positions

Jogging in the opposite direction is a tell-tale sign that one (or both) of the axes in the coordinate system have been reversed.

If it worked correctly, previously you can restore your settings by following this video.

If changes were made to the Device Settings in the 4030 most of the GRBL controllers can be reset, or partially reset to the factory settings.

If you were using a custom setting in the 4030 and the controller was reset or partially reset, the custom settings aren’t recoverable… but we can figure out what’s happening here.

Did you recently update LightBurn to a newer version?
If so, what version were you using when you updated?
Did you switch computers?

Yes I updated to the new version. Think I was running on version 2.0 before. And the machine jogs in the right direction as it should be. No I have not changed computers

I’m not quite following what the change in behaviour is and when the change happened.

If the jog behaviour changed near and around the time when you updated LightBurn, it’s probably worth restoring the Settings to confirm that it’s a settings issue.

Did you use a workspace offset previously? A workspace offset is set in the laser but it does not change the jog directions.

I had some wiring come loose from screw terninals on a GCode gantry machine. It behaved like a broken wire and would cause the machine to unpredictably jog the wrong way or not jog at all.

The machine jogs ok just the laser position is off and was after update I have tried to restore my settings but I don’t think this has worked so I’m trying to find somebody with a Saint Smart machine that can send me either a short video or some screenshots of their settings so I can see what I have done wrong

Which Sainsmart machine model?

If yours is like mine, it works in Quadrant 3. Lightburn requires Quadrant 1, where everything is positive (+X, +Y) relative to zero. Before they added the “CNC Switch”, I used offsets to put mine in the first quadrant.

I have the 4030 proverXL just could do with someone with the same or similar machine to send me there settings in a small video or screen shots lol

Ok, we can wait. :hugs:

Read this to see if you can extract some info, it´s an old thread, you may not need everything with Lightburn recent versions, just select CNC machine and set $10=0 $13=0 and do the Hula-Hula:
