That’s an interesting theory and would make sense. So effectively you can easily correlate duty ratio of a single cycle of 980 Hz to power level. That’s intuitive and operator oriented unlike the 255 value which is purely technical.
I saw that some CNC focused GRBL configurations default to 10,000 for $30. Seems this is to match a nice max RPM for spindle operations which makes sense.
