I’m making some charcuterie boards/lazy susans for a fund raiser. I want to curve “Shabbat Shalom” in Hebrew characters around the Star of David. When I pull the ‘button’ to curve the letters, they actually change position. I’m guessing this has something to do with Hebrew reading from right to left but it doesn’t make sense to me as I can write ‘straight sentences’ in the correct order. Does anyone have any insight into this issue?
I don’t know the reason why it does this, but probably like you surmise, the right to left reading. It looks like it mirrored the text. Curve it how you want then mirror horizontally.
Thanks for the reply, Tim. I tried to mirror it this morning and while it did put the letters back into the correct order, they were mirrored in display. I’m guessing you can’t read Hebrew but looking at the letters as if they’re patterns you can see what I’m talking about.
I did manage to figure it out, however. I simply had to type the sentence ‘backwards’ and then it came out correctly. See the captions on the attached photos. The green is the correct way.
I don’t know how this work or what it does.. I know no language that uses this, so I can’t help you any further, but some of the Lightburn people probably know how to use and what effect it has.
