License swap on different os

I understand Lightburn license covers 3 computers. My design computer right now is Linux and my engraving computer is win11 stripped down without upgrades (due to new policies from microsoft)

My question can I swap out one windows license for a linix license. I understand that the linux version is no longer updated. It is version 1.7 so not far behind hte 2.0 version, so all files should be interchangable, at least one way from older version to the newest version.

thanks

In the License Management, you can remove the Win seat. But of course, that PC will no longer be Lightburn functional. Why not just use the remaining seat on the new Linux machine?

Hi @wilmnomad
You can have your 3 seats on any 3 computers you like. 3 Macs, 2 Macs, and a Linux box, 3 Windows machines. It’s up to you.

Eventually, if you switch around, you’ll run out of “Allowed Deactivations,” which has an arbitrary limit set by us. If that happens, you simply email us - support@lightburnsoftware.com with your license key and ask us to increase it for you. The limit is mostly meant to prevent a license from being shared or misused.
