I have a very old Lightburn activation key from when I used machines as a hobby. I recently acquired a Ruida 1400x1000(mm) machine and bought the $30 “update,” but after activating it, I still can’t connect to my machine. I can find it, but Lightburn redirects me to the product purchase page again, which costs $100. Did I waste my $30?
If your license was for a diode laser you have the core version. For a Ruida controller it requires the Pro version which is $100 additional. Open Lightburn, click the help menu then License Management. That screen tells you what controllers are supported with your current version. Yours most likely says GCode only next to Device types enabled. This is what Pro looks like.
