Is there suppose to be a framing light when using the frame command? I am using a mac running lightburn with an omtech polar
Because the OMTech Polar is a CO₂ laser, it emits an invisible IR beam. Turning it on for framing would do no good, so LightBurn omits those controls.
Some CO₂ lasers have a visible red-dot laser pointer either coaxial with the laser beam or coincident with its focused spot, which is always turned on and is what you’d use for framing.
If the Polar lacks a red-dot pointer (which seems to be the case), you’re pretty much out of luck in terms of framing. Perhaps you can use the camera or a fixture to align the material.
