Lightburn 2.1 and camera calibration(labs)

Is there something I am missing here, the docs talk about a camera calibration wizard using tags but it shows you right clicking and then picking one that says (labs), but I am not seeing that at all in the right click window.
All I get is calibrate camera lens and the one for alignment.

and when I tried to use the tags, and hold it up to the camera it would never read them. no matter where I placed them.

this is all on the Falcon A1 Pro. only reason I am trying to do this is because for what ever reason it seems no matter what I laser, its always off by a fair amount, and that is even with adjusments put in on the camera tab.

the other thing I dont seem to see that the docs talk about is the adjusments to camera brightness etc that they show.

I’ll have the documentation for the new camera system out this week. Thanks for your patience - there are some pretty big changes in the camera system.

In LightBurn 2.1, only the AprilTag calibration method is available, so you no longer need to specifically select the Labs version.

To get to calibration, you can right click as before and choose Calibrate Camera Lens, or click the button I highlighted here:

If you haven’t already downloaded and printed the calibration pattern, you can click on the link in the Calibration Wizard, or download it here: https://docs.lightburnsoftware.com/latest/img/CalibrationTags.pdf

From there, you can follow the directions in the wizard to go through the calibration process. You’ll need to put the calibration pattern in the camera’s view in a variety of positions and orientations, and click Capture each time to save the image. Make sure your calibration pattern is focused and well lit, and try to have it at least 1/3 the size of the camera image. It’s okay if not every tag is included in each sample.

After you get enough samples, you’ll choose a calibration model based on what produces the best results.

Have you also gone through the camera alignment process? If not, please make sure you’ve done that too before trying to use the camera.

I hope that helps!

Thank you, funny not long after i posted this I was able to get the tags to somewhat work. I was never able to get more then about 15 to show. Funny you say to make sure it is light enough in there because on the A1 pro there are two lights inside of the case, and to be honest unless i blocked one of them out, the picture was always washed out too much and it would not find any of them.

so i would block one of the lights out and was able to somewhat get them to find the tags.

I think the issue is with the A1 pro camera and not having a way to darken up the image some as it just gets way too washed out.

But I did the calibration with about 10 captures and then did the alignment, I was able to get it so that right in the center of the bed its right on, but out on the edges its off about 1/8 inch. and I didnt want to compensate for the edges as that would cause the middle to be off.

Where can I find the new documentation. Really need some guidance on using the new camera calibration and alignment. Have been able to use it but seems like I am missing something.

Thanks a bunch.

These are for V 2.1, slightly in the future of V 2.0. Each page has a dropdown to select the version, so you can walk backward (or forward, for future readers!) through time to the version you have:
