Lightburn camera is 90 deg off

Bought the lightburn camera and installed it 16" above the table top.
The view in the camera control window is good.
When I overlay the image it is rotated 90 deg counter clockwise.
What did I do wrong?

If it’s only the overlay I suspect that you didn’t follow the proper order of the alignment markers when you went through camera alignment.

You may want to rerun alignment paying particular attention to the order of the markers and select them accordingly.

If not that then not quite sure. You may want to take a screenshot of LB with the overlay and Camera window showing.

Nope … found the problem.
There is a switch in the settings menu that rotates the “capture” 90 degrees.
I turned that on and the capture overlay matched the camera control display in orientation.
Problem solved.

Nice. Although it’s odd that you would need to use that. Especially if the normal control view is correct.

You’re saying the 90 degree switch was initially off, and you turned it on, correct? Not vice versa?

Is your camera mounted in a landscape configuration where the width of the bed runs L<>R horizontally?

Yep … it was off and the image was rotated.
I turned the switch on and the image was correct.
The image in the camera control panel was correct before and after I turned the switch on.
The switch in he setup menu only effected the overlay image.
The camera is in one of the camera holders and is mounted on a “L” shaped bracket made of 2020 aluminum. It is identified by the Lightburn software as a Lightburn Camera.

Having a lot of problems getting the fisheye effect to adjust out using the adjust lens wizard.
After I run the wizard there is still a fisheye effect. I am laying the target flat on the engraving bed … not above it. I identify the lens as a normal lens … if I select fisheye lens it will not work at all … the second photo becomes all blacked out.

Which wizard is this exactly? Are you referring to the “Calibrate Camera Lens” feature under Laser Tools?

Is this the calibration pattern made up of dots? Have you pasted the pattern to a known flat surface? Any slight ripple or distortion in the pattern will result in a distortion in the correction.

Alternatively, you could try using the preset calibration.

This is likely the problem. This should be fisheye.

You needn’t concern yourself with the temporarily captured images, only the scores. Focus on getting the absolute best score possible but as long as you get a good score proceed to the next stage.

Thanks Berainlb … I could not figure out how to find the presets but by tilting the target card so it faced the camera lens rather than laying flat (like the instructions show) I was able to get good numbers with the fisheye setting … laying it flat I could not.
it is dead on at the corners but a bit off at the center.

Also why is my overlay so smokey and hard to see as compaired to the view in the camera panel?

Turn off the ‘Fade’ button in the camera window. It’s faded by default to make it easier to see your design.
