Lightburn freezes

I am currently testing my Twotrees TS2 with Lightburn in trial version, with the aim of purchasing the software later.

I have a recurring problem with the software blocking on Windows 11, every 120 seconds Lightburn freezes, with the message ‘The application is not responding’, then the application unfreezes after 30 seconds.
I tried different solutions like disable the Windows feature which suspends USB devices, or even disable my antivirus.
I even changed PC, still the same problem

I haven’t found any solution yet

Can being in trial mode cause this kind of bug?

Thank you for reaching out. No, the trial has no difference, apart from the time one has to test it.

The timing of LightBurn “blocking” is unusual. What are you doing when you see this? Is the artwork very complex? If willing, please share a file where you experience this regularly. Tell us about your computer(s) and OS and version used.

Are you saving to a cloud or remote storage by chance?

Hello Rick

I think I found where the problem was coming from.

The autosave is set to 2 minutes, or 120 seconds, which corresponds to the blocking interval.

My image file was much too big (113 MB at 318 BPI 16990x12738 pixels), which explains the 30 seconds of waiting each time the autosave is triggered.

I will test a smaller image file (25 MB at 318 BPI 5784x4337 pixels)

Besides, what are the Lightburn recommendations in terms of maximum image file size?

Thanks

Believe there’s a max of 16384 pixels wide or high. And yes, with auto-save trying to write out a file of this size every 2 mins can slow things.

The key to image production using a laser is to ensure one measures and understands the dot, or beam size, for your given device so you produce at the max density without having the dots overlap. Folks sometimes assume more is better. In this case, more can mean a significant loss in fine detail and shading due to overlapping or what will look ‘smudgy’.
