Lightburn keeps creating a little dice off screen when importing SVG

I’ve been searching online and on the forms to try to find the answer with no luck so hopefully someone here has an idea. Whenever I pull in an SVG into Lightburn it adds this little black square with 2 circles (kind of looks like a die with 2 pips). The SVG doesn’t originally have this. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Or how to get rid of it?

The SVG was created using inkscape if that helps.

Thanks!!

Not all svg files are created equal. I see odd stuff in there. Sometimes they decide to add something that they should when they build them…

Someone that uses inkscape may be able to give you more assistance. I’ve used inkscape, but can’t remember any of these types of objects…

Good luck

There may be objects in the SVG file that are not visible in Inkscape. I’ve seen this a few times myself. I’m not sure if this counts as a file corruption or not but can be remedied.

2 approaches:

  1. Open the Objects sidebar by going to Object->Objects… In the sidebar, identify all objects. Delete objects that you cannot identify. It’s possible that you’ll be able to identify your unwanted object this way.

  2. If the above doesn’t work, create a new file and copy only those objects you actually want into the new file and save.

That worked! There was a weird hidden object in there. I was looking in the layers but didn’t think to look under objects. Thank you so much!

That’s great. Can you mark solved please? Will help others find this.
