For two days Lightburn no longer sees my Laser Cut, what I noticed is that the green light on the Comgrow keeps flashing.
All this happened while cutting out a small project.
In my opinion I have now checked everything but can not find the cause, and what actually happened.
Can you help me with this.
Hi @Etrok50
I’m immediately reminded of this thread
However I’d also check you’re not running another software such as GRBL that is trying to communicate with your engraver. Try reseating the cable and check your COM port setting on Devices also. On the laser window it should show as “Ready” rather than “Disconnected”.
Did you change anything 2 days ago? Have you attempted to restart your software, computer and engraver?
You say “all this happened while cutting out a small project” by this do you mean the green light started flashing and the status has not changed?
cheers

Hello, First of all, thanks for your response. The com port was always com5, and I didn’t make any changes to the settings in Lightburn, it suddenly stopped cutting out the project. I only saw later that the green light was blinking, so my first thought was, maybe there is something wrong with the PCB?
The software has been restarted several times, the USB cable replaced with a new one. I have had the Comgrow for just 1 year now and I have never had any problems with it.
But now I am actually a bit desperate, because I don’t know where to look anymore.
Kind regards,
Wiebe
I have now spent almost the entire day trying to figure out what is going on with my Comgro, but now I am receiving notifications that I do not really understand. (see below)

I hope some one can help me with this.
Thank you in advance.
Your laser appears to be using negative coordinates: MPos:-560.000,-620.000.
Does the corner your laser homes to match your home origin in your device settings?
Here’s how to address a machine using negative coordinates: GRBL Configuration - LightBurn Documentation
I have been working on the GRBL Configuration today, but my knowledge about this is not sufficient enough to solve this way.
But I don’t give up, because I just don’t understand how this error suddenly came
I have a few suggestions:
Enable your console window by going to Window>Console. Enter $I into the console window and press enter. Report back on what your laser replies with.
The latest firmware Cowmgro Z1 uses now is V2.3. I strongly suggest updating your firmware to the latest version.
Your machine appears to come with limit switches, they are mentioned in your manual. When your laser first turns on it should home itself to understand where its at. In your device settings make sure that you have ‘auto home on startup’ enabled and the corner it homes to matches the origin in your device settings. Most machines like yours home to the front left corner.
Then I get the following messages:
Wachten op verbinding…

Hello,
I have now adjusted the firmware and started LaserGRBL but now I get the following message.
I work with Windows 11.
I tried to adjust this but unfortunately I was not successful.

Wiebe
Access denied just is showing you some other software is using COM5.
Com ports are not sharable, if LightBurn is also open and connects, LaserGrbl will not be able to connect.
Hello Sir,
Lightburn was closed.
We would need to define first if COM5 is actually the com port of your laser
if you unplug it, does COM5 disappear?
if it does, then you have some other software in your computer that is initiating connection to COM5 as soon as is connected.
After installing the new firmware, there is no connection anymore.
Also the green light does not come on anymore.
I would like to thank everyone for the messages.
Kind regards
Wiebe
You might need Manufacturer support here if the laser is no longer responsive.
