I just tried with my Xtool S1, where all works perfectly with the 1.706. Camera image is much clearer and brighter. I have to rerun all calibrations, but did not have time to do that as of yet, so using callibrations from 1.706. As offset is off X and Y by about 1.25 MM after engraving. One thing I did notice right off the cuff, the “Home” function does not work in either the “Laser” panel or “Move” panel. When you click home, nothing happens. In 1.706, works perfectly. For me, I could just import all the calibrations from 1.7 and it worked fine. No need to do it again.

is it possible to take time to fix ALL com port problems? I have been using Windows since Windows 95, I have never had so many connection problems, I know what I am talking about, I started computing with To 5, To 7 etc. I have closely followed all the developments of the OS, some no longer exist and some are unknown because. many of you were not born, I have connected via USB almost a model of every existing device ranging from a professional CNC, to a robot, to an Aduinos, Raphberry, Christmas tree, etc.
I never had more than one connection problem per device and it only happened once from memory. I am 54 years old and yes, I am old but my head is 25 years old, now it is a problem with each connection. Or the mks cards are thrown away, firmware abandoned, problems with the chips or lb too complex for it, or there are problems in the lb source code.
I read the whole forum and each time the same answer on the com port, check usb, ch340 com port, update windows, antivirus and so on and so forth, but in the end, it’s never resolved, sometimes there aren’t even any answers…
Gerbel is rotten, old, austere and limited but it has something going for it, it is much more stable on port com issues, so I think it is not Windows that is at fault, Gerbel would make the same mistakes! cordially and long life to lb and huge thanks and encouragement to the dev
Just installed the 2.0 Release candidate and am trying to use it for a small project.
I like the Dark Mode but… The 9 dot square that we use to select a reference point is mostly invisable. I can only see one dot illuminated. The others are there and function when I correctly guess at where they are, but I just cannot see them.
I have downloaded it and played with it and like it so far. I haven’t hooked up my laser yet but I will tomorrow.
I like all the changes for sure…will take a bit to get use to the NODE editor and boolean nesting.
What I would love to see is a ART LIBRARY update so I can add sub catagories like for example…I have Christmas files…and under that it would be nice to have “Oranaments”, Signs, docorations, etc. I picture it to be a lot like the material library.

Hello Gil - I sent an email to the email address. I wen in today, and cannot do anything with the laser, will not even move. In the console it is busy trying to send a command. So it looks like it is not connecting. As soon as I exit and go into 1.706, all works perfectly. Thank you…

We had a few suggestions to improve this. Its being addressed.
Of course will be a iterative process.
We would need to diagnose the issue. Are these exclusive of 2.0?

How is the new camera feature?, I have a Lightburn camera and every time I use it I have to calibrate it.
Wow, with all those changes I will be waiting a while before I update.

When you install the 2.0RC, it installs in a different location. I am still running 1.6 at the same time.
Also, I do not net LB install in the default directory. I force it to install to a root C:\ directory. That solved the update not allowed issue that I was having.

I have always installed the last beta and there have been only a few times that the new version was not “usable”. In such a rare situation, I roll back the versions. It is for me the fastest and safest way to continue my production.
However, for my work computer, this problem no longer exists, it remains too “always” on its last 1.7 version of LB - unfortunately.
Where from I can find this 2.0 update?
I’m using the latest version of Lightburn, but i can’t find this 2.0 version. When I check updates, it shows: “you have the latest version”
