Hi Looked an didn’t see this mentioned before, sorry if i missed it.
But I can’t import large BMP files, say 100mb, lightburn seems to think about it for a bit, but nothing happens. The images work fine in 1.7.08, but nothing loads in this release? I have tried different computers and different files. If I save the image in 1.7.08 as a lightburn file and open in it in the release it shows an image is there (it shows the selectable border) and it says there is an image in the cut/layer menu, but no image is shown.
Exciting to see RC6 of LightBurn v2.0.00 out! The team’s been making steady progress with each release candidate, and v2 is shaping up to be a major step forward. From what I’ve seen so far, RC6 seems to bring more polish and stability—especially around device profiles and UI responsiveness.
If you’re testing this version:
Be sure to back up your prefs and machine settings before installing.
Watch for any changes in toolpath preview accuracy or layer behavior—those have had subtle tweaks in past RCs.
It’s a good time to test compatibility with different controllers (Ruida, GRBL, etc.) and report any edge cases.
Really appreciate how active the devs are with community feedback. Anyone else noticing better performance on large vector jobs?
It wasn’t enabled so I enabled it. Made it slightly better but still pretty rough looking compared to LB 1.7 I’m currently using. Windows for the cut layers and other options on the right are pretty big as well and some of the options towards the bottom are all on top of one another. Just wasn’t sure if it was something with my computer or perhaps just a bug at the moment so figured I’d ask and see.
There have been a lot of changes with how UI scaling is handled in v2 so that may also play a factor. This is actually a sore spot for my situation as I can’t get the UI to look properly formed while also fitting in a single screen.
Try experimenting with the various scaling options. In my case, enabling fractional scaling allows for a more uniform layout but at the cost of dithering artifacts.
