Can anyone please advise the best settings for Acrylic to Cut and Engrave ? I am using Lightburn on Sculfun S30 Pro Max…Thanks.
What type of acrylic?
Anything clear - or translucent will not work with 445nm diode lasers
It will more than likely be Cast Acrylic, I wont be using clear…the lightest shade will be a creme shade. Also do i leave Air Assist on or off ?
OK so rule of thumb.
Anything lighter than the blue laser color will be really tough to cut.
The darker the better cleaner cut
Engraving should be fine, howeve each tone will need its own settings
On lighter colours you might need a substrate, maybe washable paint white/black that you can then clean
SEttings really you need to do testing. EVERY colour tone will need different settings
I see Gil,
Thanks very much for your valued information, I really appreciate it…Im just a little nervous being a newcomer to the world of Laser Engraving
I would say Baby steps! dont try to bite more than you can chew at first
and… TAKE notes. Lots and lots of notes and pictures!
Nothing more valuable on your learning curve than having visual references of settings you can go back to. Even when things fail they still provide a lot of important data!
