LO E5 DSP (AWC 608 compatible) connection lost if click 'home x/y" in Lightburn

Our machines will home Z on power using the Z limit switch input, however there seems to be a different input on the controller?? for autofocus, thus we have never utilised it.

Surely if the Z resolution is set up correctly and the machine knows its zero-point, sending a command to advance the Z axis as per thickness in the materials database, almost like a macro, would be an easy addition?

There are no commands that can be sent as part of a cut job to move the Z. I could, feasibly, move the Z to a set height for the start of a job, but there’s not much point, and it would set up the expectation that I could do it during the job, which I can’t.

I would consider moving (lowering) the Z to accommodate the material offset before the job starts to be an exceptionally useful feature.

I see no reason it would need to be done during a job. (with the exception of de-focusing for raster)
