Hi all - Just got a Cubiio 3 as a starter to play with. I know its new, but anyone have experience getting any of the Cubiio’s to work with lightburn? So far, ive used it with their web interface and it connects by IP, but I can run it from direct connection on my usb c of my laptop, just not exactly sure what driver i’d need to get lightburn to recognize it… Thanks for any recommendations.
The only driver relevant is the CH340 USB driver. If Lightburn does not recognize your laser, it is because the communications protocol is incorrect. Open the Console window and power up the laser. If the laser and Lightburn are talking at all, you will see something in that window.
Although the controller is GRBL, it may be a version proprietary to the laser manufacturer. GCode is pretty standard, but other commands to control the laser might not be.
Let us know what you see (copy/paste in a Reply) in the Console window. That may help us help you get it up and running with Lightburn.
Some manufacturers need to provide a .lbdev file to use their laser with Lightburn. Let us know if you got one of those.
