Machine Control Only?

Is it possible to use Millmage as a machine control utility without going through the step of designing a model? For example, if I already have Gcode tool paths generated using Vectric software and want to run them using Millmage, how would I do this? Right now, I’m using GSender to run the Gcode but really want to switch to Millmage because of my favorable experience with Lightburn.

If you click here:

You’ll get a window that let you select your file.

Problem is you can’t get to job control without creating a new project.

You mean like this, so you can Run GCode, Home, or Jog? Of course, you cannot use stuff like Frame.

Empty Project.mage (9.0 KB)

As far as I can see, I cannot invoke “Job Control” to load Gcode without first creating a project. I don’t see a way to go directly to “Job Control”.

If you drag the GCode file to MillMage workspace (defined stock) you can preview the shapes of your project , but seems you have to assign Operations in MillMage. It isn´t a load and fire. but I´m not connected to the machine to confirm.

My layout looks like this. The Job Control window should be accessable. Once you see it, you click on Run GCode.

You do not get any of the other bells and whistles of MillMage because it cannot recreate a design from the GCode file.

It is a window, not a process.
