"Machine Protected Error, Work Paused"

Running a LS 3655 with Lightburn in the Technology Classroom. After multiple runs the emissions indicator flashed once and a “WARNING” error popped up "Machine Protected, Work Paused, Continue press, ESC press

After restarting the machine and software it ran a few more times and stopped completely. I keep getting the same error. Based on past posts posts I have;
1.updated lightburn 7.1.08
2.checked my chiller water lines (Not sure were the sensor is if someone can help with that)
2b.Temps are @ Chiller20.1 and machine 70.2
3.Check and adjusted the safety interlock switches
4.Disconnected and reconnected the ether/usb connection

**When the error pops up;

  1. [Machine Setting] says there is a connection failure, if I clear the error on the machine it reconnects.

Please help!

If it says connection error, there’s most likely a problem with your connection.
If you’re connected via USB try a different cable. Or, try connecting via Ethernet instead. That is a more robust connection method.
There is a way to display the sensor data on the control panel. I’m not by my machine right now, but if you drill thru the menu you’ll find it.

The machine will not recognize the ethernet cable even if I do a device setup. The USB cord is sending data.I am convinced its on the machine end as I am able to send a file to the machine and it will load the file.
Why won’t it tell me the the error is?

Working with tech support. All the interlocks passed except at the power supply

Are you connecting directly to the machine from your PC or is the machine connected to your local network switch or router ?

Try turning off your WiFi and restart both your PC and laser.

Make sure both your computer and laser are using the same IP range.

See the Ethernet setup here: Connect to a Ruida Laser via Ethernet - LightBurn Documentation

On mine I can bring up a diagnosis menu that shows what the controller it seeing. You don’t mention what controller, mine is a 6442g.

This shows the X home switch and the water protection inputs read active by the controller.

My controller has only two inputs for faults, excluding limits, door protection and water protection for each tube.

Mine also has input leds on the Ruida controller that shows the pins state. There are for the X and Y home function. The door protect doesn’t have an led at this level.

Can you take a photo of the console when it’s failing – hope to spot something…

BOSS Laser Techs were amazing! Traced back all the interlocks and found the hood latch interlock connectors were sloppy!

Did you examine any of the machine console diagnosis, if possible, on your machine?
Did you check the controller for a water protect issue?

Which model of Ruida are you using?
