So I am new to Lightburn and have had several problems today. I am setting up and trying to use my laser for the first time and nothing seems to be working correctly. I am running a Shapeoko Pro XXL with an Opt Laser PLH3D-XT laser head. After much trial and error, I finally got the thing to communicate with my Carbide Motion v3.0c control board via a control cable. However, there seems to be a limit and origin issue when in laser mode.
Although the machine completes the homing cycle correctly and goes to the far back right corner as it does when operating in CNC mode, I am having an issue with moving it to an origin spot. For some reason, it only wants to go to the far front left corner of the table and will not move more than an inch or two from that position. Furthermore, if it begins at the homed position and I press “Go to Origin,” the gantry runs to the front left corner and, despite having limit switches enabled, it slams into the end rail as if it wants to continue further forward. Using the Move button to jog the gantry isn’t much better. Once the laser/spindle moves away from the home position, the only direction I can move the laser is +Y and +Z, which ultimately takes it to the front left corner. Also, the Z-axis does not work. I tried changing the work area to 30 X 30 but nothing seems to matter. It always goes to this same spot. I am not sure how to make the machine operate within the boundaries of the available table area. My settings from the home position are posted below. Please help if you can. Thank you.
