Hi, curious if anyone out there has had any luck with good material settings to use on Magpul Black Pmags gen 2 or 3 for the 3 primary colors of tan, brown and gray, using a 30 watt fiber laser with a 150mm lens? While someone here may have some solid settings for you to test, we generally recommend using our Material Test feature to find your lasers best settings for a given material.
The only downside to this process is that you’ll ‘waste’ some product/material dialing in your settings, but you have the upside of knowing exactly what different laser settings will do for a given material.
Now, according to Google, the Pmags are made of a proprietary fiberglass-reinforced nylon-based polymer, so you might find some success trying settings commonly used for nylon and moving from there.
You may also want to reach out to San Antonio Laser Support to see what information they may have for you. They have a lot of experience with firearms/accessories engraving and should be able to provide you with more concise instructions or alternatives.
