I have been running V1.05.04 for several years with no issues. USB to NEJE max 4 with win 11 HP PAVILLION DESKTOP, about 6 years old.

Boolean functions grayed out, When Boolean does work (sometimes can not ungroup objects for further editing Group ad ungroup work sometimes sporadically. Docking is also flaky, the laser performs OK - many of the Editing and design feature are really flaky
It is almost as if LightBurn has been corrupted somehow. Sometimes when I trace a PDF drawing I cannot ungroup it for editing. At this point LightBurn is crippled and useless.
Wondering will uninstalling Lightburn and installing a fresh copy restore things back to normal?
If this is not due to an upgrade, then I would completely uninstall Lightburn and download a fresh copy from their website. Lightburn does not corrupt itself, but there are lots of ways it can get clobbered.
If you have not upgraded, I suggest you seriously consider it. the new Trim Shapes tool alone is worth the cost.
LightBurn 1.5.04 is several major releases behind the current version, 2.1.03, so updating would be the best first step before trying to diagnose this or calling out a âmajor issueâ . You can install the newer version over the existing one; there should be no need to uninstall first, but you would probably need to purchase a year-of-updates for your license key. The Boolean tools are designed to remain grayed out unless the selection is suitable. They require exactly two closed vector shapes, two groups, or a shape and a group. They will not be available if the selection contains an image, an open path, or more than two separate objects/groups. Ungroup will likewise only do anything when the selected object is actually grouped.
After updating, if you can reproduce a specific case where one of these tools does not behave as expected, please attach the LightBurn project (you can email it to support@lightburnsoftware.com with a link to this post if you prefer) and a screenshot showing the selected objects and grayed-out tool. That will give us something concrete to examine.
I have found this sometimes happens to files that came in as DXF or SVG. An engineer sent me an SVG yesterday where I could Ungroup once, allowing 2 Layers, but I could not Ungroup it more to remove some unwanted paths using the Trim Shapes Tool.
I have never had this happen with a Lightburn created file.

This is part of an R&D for making a couple of 6" PCBâs on the mill. I used Lightburn because I can turn âfillâ on and off. I am just stubborn that way.
In the red layer, I do see where there are both blinking and marching sections. Did not figure that made a difference for the Ungroup function here.
I know (blinking segments), but everything selects when I click on any red segment. And Ungroup will not allow selecting any one segment. SVG came from KiCAD.
Not an issue here, just a curosity. Got word today he is giving the Pro Bono work to someone else.
I know it might be too late, but, I repaired the file. Many duplicate lines on the red layer were removed. Also, set the kerf back to zero on the red layer⌠Works fine nowâŚ
