When you want to lase something, look at the safety information, required by the US government, that details what is safe with the product.
There is nowhere, I can find, that the manufacturer even implies Oramask can be used where the product is vaporized by heat.
Their own safety documentation states that this information doesn’t apply because the manufacturer doesn’t recommend/expect you to use it this way.
Even if @soniclab has great ventilation, there are other considerations…
Vinyl, when vaporized produces chlorine gas. When chlorine gas and water vapor combine it produces hydrochloric acid.
Even with the best ventilation, it goes through all the metal parts of the system corroding them and then it’s expelled as acid rain compound, across your town and neighbors.
This was a $30k laser, that spent a few months cutting vinyl… Even with excellent ventilation this is a bad idea… as you can see from the photo
In the end, the decision is always yours.
