Material Test does show on rosewood

I am new to using lightburn and Falon 2.
I have installed the 1.6w module and runing the material test can see it is firing but nothing is shown on the wood.

I have height set to the lowest level using the guide supplied with the Flacon 2.
Here are setting used

Most of the people use mm/m with led lasers. You are starting at 10mm/s which is 600mm/m, might be kind of fast for the wood with such a low power laser.

Do you have the material settings set to fill or line?

I have no idea of what you mean here…

The bottom line, is it needs to be in focus.

Hi
The laser cutter/engraver comes with a measuring block to set the laser height the correct distance from the wood.

Do you know a link with recommended power/speed for 1.6w laser?

I’m afraid not, I have a 500mW and a 5.5W that I rarely use.

@misken might know, he’s more current on these.

I suggest you ramp test it to see if that’s the correct focus point.

There is no link. It’s just testing. But as Jack pointed out, you are going way too fast. 1.6W of power is nearly nothing. I guess you will have some results in the area of 10-200 mm/min, which is roughly 0.15 to 3.3 mm/s. Try a material test at that speed range. And then use 100% mostly.
And best is to change units to mm/min in main settings because you will be very slow and those units are better to display slow speeds.
