via the material test i made a test to cut and write on 300 grams of paper. i see in the test results that with a speed of 5 and a power of 5% i get a very nice result for writing, nice deep black and super sharp lines. when i then try these settings on a piece of text i see nothing at all, after some trying i have to set my power to 10% to get the same text as in the material test. why a material test if the value is different for a “normal print”
Do you use the same material for testing and the actual process?
If so, do a test with writing engraving and see if there is a difference between line and text.
Image documentation is always an advantage so that we can see what you see.
(Remember to specify the units of measurement or no one will know what you are talking about.)
5 mm/s
5 mm/m
5 in/m
5 in/s
5 mph
The unit of measure is really important. It also helps to include the laser power output too. Some laser models have different options.
I use the same material and settings for all the operations I mention here. I give my speed in mm/s and in metric format.
That sounds like very slow for paper, I write on paper at at least 100 mm/s. …
Can you show us your settings in LB and the result?
