The tooltip for deactivating my license says I can do this a max of 10 times. Is that a max per renewal period (per year) or total for that license number?

Essentially, the renewal process will just add another ~365 days to the existing key.
There is a separate field in the system for maximum activations. It’s flexible and can be edited fairly easily. The limit is there to prevent abuse. If you need more, send a message to the support email with your key.
