Measurements and pass count

I placed a ply wood on a flat surface. Put a rectangle (wooden business card) to test it out.

Turned on fire and held down shift and clicked frame.
Width is correct and height is incorrect. (Did this 4x and results are the same)

Turned on laser to engrave a plain square with 2 passes, both passes did not align at all. Did 3 different squares, 2 passes each and none aligned.

Did tilting 45 degrees on all angles and it passed.

You are missing steps somewhere.

Most likely loose belts. Check those first. Also check that the pulleys on the stepper motors are secure.

It could also be that your speed is too high and the motors are skipping. Keep your speeds low until you have a handle on things. Then test with higher speeds.
