I waited after seeing several issues with the previous release and then finally update to 2.1.02. The mm versus inches measurements change randomly though my design and use of Lightburn. This release is flawed. It literally keeps changing from mm to inches in the middle in a design. This is clearly a bug. I have to keep opening the Gear wheel repeatedly to keep changing the measurement because it keeps changing on it’s own. Put the Maple Syrup down and please FIX THIS. I AM GoING TO REVERT Back to the earlier version until you figure out how to fix this. So frustrating. Plese fix it.
I have been a long time user of Lightburn, and have never seen this occur at random or for no reason.
What I have seen is a change in one window initiate a change in another. If you are switching windows, this could be due to the new switch that links/unlinks design settings with the control settings.
In other words, you have mm in the Layers window and select inches in the Design window. When you go to the Layers window, it is suddenly in inches there.
I myself have the Layers (control) set to metric all the time. In the Design window, I switch back and forth IN/MM like a kid with a light switch. I had to turn off the linking switch and make sure the correct units were selected in the pull-down list.
Good morning and thank you Mike. I think this was very helpful. I did not notice that “Link” toggle under Control Units before and i think you are right. It is currently “Enabled”. I will turn it off and see if it goes away. I appreciate you taking the time to help. I never noticed that “Link” before or perhaps it was always set to off as a default as I have not had this happen before in the last 2.5 years/ in previous releases. You did not miss the switch. It was recently added for the 50% of users that wanted it. Even now, I have read there is another small change coming that many, not in the 50% bunch mentioned above, asked for.
