anyone else getting this ?
re visited an old project was using an up cut 1/8" and went to chase to a Down Cut!
when I press ok I loose MM all together . restarted and did it a lot of times and all with the same result , I even picked the bit and double clicked it for the same result …
very frustrating,
so should I air this here or send an email???

Could you be a bit more descriptive - where precisely are you clicking ‘OK’ - in the Tool Library window? In the tool edit window?
Can you send a screenshot (please no cell phone pics of screens) so that I can see what is happening?

just as if you pick an operation this particular one was a profile! you pick the new tool and press ok ??? that’s not all that hard . best try it.?
have sent an email as well!to MM support.
also if you press the chang tool in the operation profile then pick your new tool even if I double click the new toolkit crashes …never did this before …thanks Colin
Hi Pat, I believe it’s the same as the “v-carve crashing” bug reported here and as far as I can tell it affects all the Operation dialog windows and happens when either the ‘Select Tool’, ‘Paint Color’ or ‘Layer chooser’ buttons are pressed opening a child window which glitches when closed.
So it’s not specific to any particular operation or to tool selection in itself (you can right click the operation and still set a tool), but is a UI bug affecting the operation settings window that hopefully will be patched soon.
I experienced a problem that sounds similar.
I:
- upgraded to MillMage 0.9.00-RC5
- opened MM and loaded a project
- added a single circle that is .25in in diameter
- arrayed the circle in the Y direction - count of 16 and distance of 32mm
- chose New Operation
- selected a tool (IDC Woodcraft 1/4 inch compression bit)
- clicked OK on the tool-selection widget
- got a core dump
A window appeared with debug info. I sent this… though it appears that it was sent to apple, not LightBurn: seems like some setting should be changed so that the stack trace, etc, can be sent directly to LightBurn. Unless apple will forward the message? Not sure how things are set up behind the scenes.
By the way, my goal was to create shelf-pin holes for a cabinet. If MillMage provided an extension language, one of the first things I’d want to do is to create functions to automate a number of operations for building cabinets.
It occured to me that maybe MillMage might provide a macro capability that could help automate some of these tasks. I see that I have the ability to display a Macro(s) window but the window is empty and clicking on the ‘Manage’ button doesn’t seem to have any effect. The section on Macros in the MM documentation shows some text but it’s pretty vague and not all that useful (to me).
I am experincing the crashs as well after downloading the RC5. It crashes after selecting a different tool bit and clicking the OK at the lower right of the screen. Every time now AND I now have my licensed version 8 doing the same thing. - Even after a reboot of my Mac system. Perhaps a fresh download and re-install of version 8 will get me back up and running… That worked! Back on Version 8 and running fine again.
Every time I select a new operation and choose a tool, MillMage closes unexpectedly.
My computer is Mac ,Tahoe 26
