Millmage issues containing open shapes

Trying to build a game on plywood. As I connect lines to build the game and look at the preview of the design a warning comes up and states Operation #4 (Chamfer Profile) → 12.7 mm V-Bit 60.0°
contains one or more open shapes. When I highlight the design, it shows all lines connected and only cuts the outer line and the inner cir

Not sure what to do anymore and if I make complete shapes it over cuts the lines

Hi Larry, which version of MillMage are you running? In the latest release 0.8.02, I’m not seeing the same warning you are.

You can get the latest version of MillMage here: Download MillMage Trial – LightBurn Software

Hi Colin

Currently using 0.8.01-RC3 I tried to upgrade, but it said none available. Will try again, hoping it will work its driving me crazy.

Thank You

Larry

A release candidate is a version that might have some last minute bugs, hence candidate instead of production. RC3 might be the last one in the v0.8.01 series. For everyday use, you should be running the Production Release version.

I see you could be a Lightburn user. If so, copy your design into Lightburn and see if it will FILL. If it does not, then you have line segments that are not connected. Fix it in Lightburn, then copy it back.

At a loss swapped it over to light burn and fixed the lines had about 5 open lines. When I connected them they would not go to dash lines showing connected but swapped it back over to Millmage and its still doing it. This is driving me crazy. Maybe I will try a complete redraw in lightburn.

Your file looks fine without warnings under 8.0.02.

Well that looks good. I’m still getting the open shape message. Working on a complete redraw not sure what to do in the small square corners, rectangles, and triangles, I’m at a loss

Just download 8.0.02.

Here is a cleaner version of what I am looking for on this game I’m building. When I preview it, it still only cuts out the outer : https://forum.lightburnsoftware.com/uploads/short-url/qtt4gdlVSLtCm8rlQXNRVrVOyfI.mage
copied to clipboard lines and leaves the corners, rectangles, and triangles uncut

Quick question, and my wife falls into this trap all the time. Are you sure the 2 lines you want to merge are on the same layer? :slightly_smiling_face:

Also awesome trick to copy it over to LB and fill it. I’ll do that all the time now.

(Can’t edit my post)
What kind of game it it going to be? Looks really nice. Please post a shot when you get it finished.

Gary

Yes, all lines are on the same layer. When I try to connect the line nodes, they don’t connect to the other line like in Lightburn. I even tried to copy the game over to Lightburn and lined up the nodes, but it didn’t help either. When I moved it back to Millmage, it still says there are open shapes on that layer. If I complete the triangles, rectangles, and the small squares in the corners, they will cut, but they are wider than the original lines. We call the game fast track

Sorry for the late reply, I open a lot of Browser Tabs and sometimes things jump out of control.

You have to enable Output for the last 2 OPs.

Larry

I downloaded your file and I get no errors when I go to preview.

I’m on version MillMage Core 0.8.01-RC-3 @ 204e2b7 Qt6.5.7
That’s the RC release.

The real version I have (just upgraded) is 0.8.02 and that gives me no errors either. Maybe your copy of MillMage is corrupted? I’m a Steam gamer and it happens a lot on games.

I get no errors on either version. I was hoping I could help farther.
