MillMage — our new all-in-one software solution for CNC routers — is launching on February 24, 2026!
MillMage combines LightBurn’s array of powerful design and layout tools with CAM and Control functionality built specifically for CNC routers, so you can take your ideas from design to finished product all within a single powerful program.
With MillMage you can:
- Draw and edit vector paths
- Create shapes and text
- Combine and modify graphics
- Assign a wide variety of operations to shapes in your project, including Pockets, Profiles, Drills, and Chamfers
- Generate toolpaths for any CNC that runs standard GCode
- Modify your GCode output to fit your firmware, without needing to use a post-processor
- Directly connect to and control any CNC running GRBL, or common variants
And that’s all in the first release, with much more to come down the road. As launch approached, we made the decision to update our pricing model to offer two types of licenses, Core and Pro, and stagger their initial release schedule. Core will come first (next week!) and Pro will arrive down the road.
MillMage Core will provide access to all of the above features, and any other feature currently available in our public Release Candidate (download here). Core licenses will be priced at $99 USD, and will be the only type of license available at initial launch.
MillMage Pro licenses will come with all of the above, plus additional advanced features, including:
- V-Carving
- Relief Carving
- True Nesting
- and more!
Pro licenses will be priced at $199 USD, and will be available when those advanced features are completed, tested, and fully ready for action. We are working hard to get them out sooner than later, but we’re going to take the time we need to make sure they’re worth the wait.
We chose this licensing structure to allow beginner and hobbyist CNC users to utilize the vast majority of MillMage’s robust feature set at an accessible price, while offering premium features only to those advanced users whose work requires them. It’s the best way we could think of to make our software as affordable as possible, while still keeping the lights on. Those advanced features are really hard to write, and our developers keep insisting we feed them.
- If you start with MillMage Core, you’ll be able to upgrade your existing license to Pro later on, at the same price as the difference between a new Core and Pro license — $100 USD.
- The price to renew MillMage will remain the same whether you’re a Core or a Pro user — $50 USD for one year of updates. If you’ve maintained updates for 1 year (including the year that came with your initial purchase), you can renew for $45 USD. If you maintain for 2+ years, you can renew for $40 USD.
As always, your license is perpetual. If you decide not to purchase another year once your update period ends, you can continue using your current version until the end of time without ever having to renew. We’ll keep adding features until we get you to change your mind!
Now, we know what some of you are thinking (because we’ve been asked a few times already!) — we will not be offering discounted pricing to our current LightBurn users. Check out our FAQ for more information.
Just as with LightBurn, we have already priced MillMage as low as we can, leaving no room for us to offer further discounts — unfortunately, we have bills to pay too. We are proud to offer high-quality software at an extremely competitive price point in this space.
