In MillMage, the Grid is the size of the material being machined. It is not the size of your machine workspace.
Without your part program including your settings and tool selections, it is very difficult to imagine what could be causing the error message.
try ctrl A and see what happens, there may be a pixel somewhere your missing which can cause this sometimes, what happens if you click yes and you view preview
Both previews work as expected.
Do you understand the differences between Machine and Workpiece coordinates?
A screenshot of your Move window might help.
After you’ve defined the Project Origin and Zero Point in Project Setup, and before you start your job, you also need to tell your machine where those locations are in physical space.
There are two ways to do that in MillMage:
- Jog your CNC to the correct location and then press the Zero X/Y/Z buttons in the Move Window.
- If your machine supports it, use the Probing Wizard to automatically zero each axis.
Which way did you use?
I’m having the same issue, even shut it down and started over still keep getting out of bounds even though my project is well within the bounds
I am getting the same message too. Everything is well within the material dimensions.
This is what I did.
Hi @Terry5
Can you hit ESC 2 times then click the Click to Frame icon
After post a screenshot of your Lightburn window?
I did an operation that goes Outside of Stock Boundaries without warnings (Strange) and I have the warning enabled.
We need to see the move window to review the machine and workpiece positions.
Was the machine homed when it was turned on and connected to MillMage?
The machine was homed and zeroed when connected to MillMage.
Here is the Project out of bounds message.
Here is the project setup.
I did some experimenting and found that the Project out of bounds doesn’t show up if I switch the Origin to the Front Left.
That will do it, you changed your zero point configuration to resolve the out of bounds error. Device Settings: Basic Settings - MillMage Documentation
Not according to the text under the corner graphics, and based on what xan be seen in your images above. It appears your 0,0 point is the front left, which puts you in the first quadrant graphically.
You stated that the out of bounds error was resolved by switching the Origin to the Front Left. MillMage is not LightBurn. You didn’t change your origin, you changed your zero point config, I was just clarifying what you did to resolve your issue, so anyone reading this in the future would understand.
I did change my Project Origin. I did not change the Zero Point. The Zero Point was always Front Left.
I changed the Project Origin from Center to Front Left.
The out of bounds shows up if the Project Origin is Center.
Awesome, thanks for clarifying!
did this start happening after the last up date, as the last update changed my zero point configuration to top right, when it had always been bottom left
There is still something wrong. I need to use project origin centered, not front left. I don’t understand why front left doesn’t cause the error, but centered does.
I’m not sure because this is the first time I’ve used a centered project origin. I did notice the zero point shifted to the back right with the update. I had to change it back to front left.
